1.0 Scope
This part of the Specifications applies to devices, other than gas chromatographs, that determine gas properties (e.g. calorific value, relative density, density) by some means.
2.0 Unit requirements
Note: The requirements of Part 1, section 1.0 apply.
3.0 Metrological requirements
Note: The following requirements of Part 1, section 2.0 apply:

- 2.7 Temperature
- 2.9 Vibrations and shocks
- 2.10 Orientation
- 2.14 Different gases

According to the characteristics of the device, the following requirements may also apply:

3.1 Maximum permissible errors
3.1.1 Calorific value
The error must not exceed a maximum permissible error (MPE) of ± 0.5%.
3.1.2 Density and/or relative density
The error must not exceed a MPE of ± 0.7%.
3.2 Repeatability
The repeatability error of the device must be smaller than or equal to one fifth of the MPE that would be applicable to the mean value of the measurement results.
4.0 Technical requirements
Note: The following requirements of Part 1, section 3.0 apply:

4.1 Calorific value
Devices must have a range of calorific value suitable for the intended purpose.
4.2 Relative density
Devices must have a range of relative density suitable for the intended purpose.
5.0 Marking requirements
Note: The following requirements of Part 1, section 4.0 apply:
- 4.1 Permanency and legibility

- (b) Manufacturer's name or registered trademark
- (c) Model or type designation
- (d) Serial number
- (e) Ambient temperature range, where less than -30 °C to 40 °C

- 4.12 Inspection number
- 4.13 Verification marks
- 4.14 Operating information
According to the characteristics of the device, the following requirements may also apply:

- (h) Qmin
- (k) Type and range for analogue input and/or output signal
- (l) Protocol/interface for digital input and/or output
- 4.3 Bar codes or quick response codes
5.1 Additional information
The following information must be marked on the nameplate, where applicable:
- Type of gas if other than natural gas;
- Range of density and/or relative density;
- Range of calorific value;
- Ranges of gas and air flow rates;
- Ranges of inlet gas and air pressure and temperature; and
- Any range of influence quantity that may affect the performance of the device.
6.0 Sealing provision requirements
Note: The following requirements of Part 1, section 5.0 apply:
