Launch of New Online LIT Directory

February 17, 2020

The Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy (OSB) will be launching a new Licensed Insolvency Trustee (LIT) directory online on February 24, 2020. The new directory can be accessed on the OSB’s website by clicking on “Find a Licensed Insolvency Trustee.”

The new map-enabled directory will provide LITs with more options to advertise their services while assisting Canadians to find the right LIT for their needs.

By logging in to the OSB Licence Administration Application (OLAA), you will be able to select the non-resident offices that you want to appear on the map-enabled directory. For corporate LITs, this selection will need to be made by the LIT-in-charge. You will also have the option to list your website and email address, as well as indicate the services you offer (consumer insolvency services and/or corporate insolvency services).

As part of the release of the new directory, the OSB will be providing the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) with your mailing address as it appears in OLAA, so please ensure that you have entered your preferred mailing address in OLAA. (N.B. If no mailing address is entered in OLAA, the resident office address will be provided.)

Though the new directory will list only LITs with an active administrative status, the full-list of LITs (i.e. all administrative statuses: ‘active’, ‘semi-active’ and ‘inactive’) will also be available on the OSB website.

Please do not hesitate to contact the OSB Licensing Team should you have any questions in regards to OLAAor the new LIT directory.
