Teaching Approach:
- Understands that students learn in various ways and that sometimes, it takes
a multiplicity of methods of teaching one same concept before the idea really
takes hold in a student's mind.
- Developed number study-guide resources that organize the required concepts
of each course in a clear and logical order.
- Provides opportunities for students to be actively engaged in hands-on learning
through the use of learning packages, which include a variety of multi-media
technologies.
- Posts learning materials generated by herself and students on websites for
other teachers and students to reference. Often encourages her students to actively
search the internet for use in her own classroom.
- Integrates various teaching methods to teach very complex methods of calculus.
She uses graphic, numeric, and analytic methodologies to help her students make
sense of the mathematics they are learning.

Rave Reviews:
"I had the good fortune of having my first year as a high-school teacher
in the very school where Lorraine was the math leader. Her guidance, sharing
of material and the great discussions we had on how to improve teaching and
learning on an on-going basis greatly impacted my views on being a math teacher." - Colleague
"Lorraine Baron is the best math teacher I have ever known. Teaching
is not easy. Successfully reaching students to help them understand the complex
concepts in mathematics is a great challenge. It requires great skill, commitment
to lifelong learning, dedication to all students and passion to make a difference.
These are the premier qualities that Lorraine Baron possesses." - Principal
"A constant smile and upbeat attitude always made her class exciting
and energetic. Many of my fellow students who were taught by other teachers
found Math 12 and Calculus 12 to be very tough subjects. I discovered
that Ms. Baron
made the topics easier to understand by using a variety of different teaching
methods to emphasize concepts. She often went above the call of duty to discover
visual examples on-line to help students understand various Calculus topics." - Former
