Philosophy of Care:
Create opportunities for children to have experiences that are out of the ordinary - positive experiences that will generate intense feelings.
When children think back on their years at the centre, they should remember it as an hour of glory.
Be ready to go beyond the "limits" to create opportunities for children to perform and to learn.
Exemplary Practices:
Assemble and put on theatrical productions of extraordinary high quality and professionalism to create a moment of glory for children.
Use thematic programs to focus children's learning and to build ties with the community. For example, the children serve their mothers breakfast on Mother's Day, visit the fire department during Fire Prevention Week and hold a parade to welcome the birds in the spring.
Created "road maps" that detail each child's progress. When developing these journals, they first surveyed parents to find out what they wanted to see in them. The most notable feature of the journals is that the child, his or her parents and the educator are all involved in monitoring the child's progress in a way that is simple yet engaging.
