5.1 Granting an unconditionally lengthened initial reverification period to qualifying meters
An unconditionally lengthened IRP may be granted to qualifying gas meters and ancillary devices listed in Table 1:
- if they were initially verified on or after the applicability date indicated in Table 1, or
- if their IRP still applies as of the applicability date and they were not subject to calibration adjustments or component exchanges during that period, in which case it is granted retroactively.
5.2 Granting a subsequent reverification period to qualifying meters
5.2.1 Exception
The subsequent reverification period associated with a lengthened IRP may not be granted retroactively to qualifying gas meters and ancillary devices listed in Table 1 if a subsequent reverification period still applies on or after the applicability date indicated in Table 1.
5.2.2 Reserviced and reverified gas meters and ancillary devices
The subsequent reverification period associated with a lengthened IRP may be granted to qualifying gas meters and ancillary devices listed in Table 1 that are reserviced and reverified by 100% inspection or acceptance sampling on or after the applicability date indicated in Table 1.
5.2.3 Renewed and reverified gas meters and ancillary devices
A subsequent reverification period equal in duration to a lengthened IRP may be granted to qualifying gas meters and ancillary devices listed in Table 1 that are renewed and reverified on or after the applicability date indicated in Table 1.
5.2.4 Gas meters and ancillary devices reverified by compliance sampling
Where qualifying gas meters and ancillary devices listed in Table 1 are reverified by compliance sampling on or after the applicability date indicated in Table 1, the available reverification period extensions are based on the applicable lengthened IRP.
6.0 Gas meters and ancillary devices qualifying for a conditionally lengthened initial reverification period
Approval no. |
Manufacturer | Model(s) | Device type and capacity | Applicability |
---|---|---|---|---|
AG-0606 | Romet Limited | AdEM-PTZ (with firmware versions C07XZ004, D05XZ004 and D05XZ064) | EVC device (PTZ) |
All meters whose IRP was granted on or after January 1, 2018. Conditional on successful completion of interim sampling in accordance with S-S-05 by June 30, 2024. |
AG-0642 | Itron | Intelis 250 | Ultrasonic meter |
All meters whose IRP was granted on or after January 1, 2022. |
6.1 Granting a conditionally lengthened initial reverification period
A conditionally lengthened IRP may be granted to qualifying gas meters and ancillary devices initially verified on or after the applicability date indicated in Table 2, subject to the following conditions:
- Interim sampling in accordance with specification S-S-05 is successfully completed by the date given in Table 2.
- Full compliance with the requirements of bulletin GEN-27 for recording IRPs is achieved.
6.2 Conditions of a lengthened initial reverification period satisfied
Gas meters and ancillary devices listed in Table 2 that satisfy the conditions under section 6.1 will be moved to Table 1 and the conditions of the lengthened IRP will be removed. As required by bulletin GEN‑27, affected meter owners will be required to update their meter records to reflect the change from a conditionally lengthened IRP to an unconditionally lengthened IRP.
6.3 Conditions of a lengthened initial reverification period not satisfied
Gas meters and ancillary devices listed in Table 2 that do not satisfy the conditions under section 6.1 will be moved to Table 3 and their conditionally lengthened IRP will be revoked.
7.0 Gas meters and ancillary devices no longer qualifying for a lengthened initial reverification period
Approval no. |
Manufacturer | Device type and capacity | Applicability | |
---|---|---|---|---|
AG-0355 | Elster American Meter | AC-250R ACM-250R |
Diaphragm meter 5.5 m³/h (air) 195 ft³/h (air) | Lengthened IRP revoked. IRP amended to seven years for all meters granted an IRP on or after January 1, 2002. |
7.1 Revocation of unconditionally lengthened initial reverification periods
Where performance results at preceding, interim or future inspections are found to be unsatisfactory, gas meters and ancillary devices listed in Table 1 may be moved to Table 3 and the unconditionally lengthened IRPs may be revoked.
