United States / Canada Mutual Recognition Agreement

Under the United States / Canada Mutual Recognition Agreement, the examination and tests of certain fuel dispensers and scales performed by the United States are recognized by Measurement Canada. This recognition is done under the Canada / United States Mutual Recognition of Type Evaluation Program.

Mutual Acceptance Arrangement (MAA)

Measurement Canada is a participating member of the International Organization for Legal Metrology (OIML) and a signatory to the MAA as a utilizing participant for the recognition of test results on the approval of non-automatic weighing devices and related modules. This MAA allows Measurement Canada to use test reports from other countries who are issuing participants in its approval process.
