Company Description

Wex Pharmaceuticals Inc. (the "Company") is a neuro-
bioscience company, federally incorporated in Canada in
1992, dedicated to the discovery of medicine for the management
of pain in order to minimize human suffering. The Company is a
leader in the extraction, refinement and manufacture of
Tetrodotoxin (TTX), a purified complex, non-protein toxin
extracted from the puffer fish. The Company initially identified
TTX for use in the management of pain and other symptoms
associated with withdrawal from prescription and non-
prescription opiates, and used the trade name Tetrodin™
for this indication. The Company also conducted research on the
analgesic effects of TTX in order to determine the potential
for the market for the management of chronic and acute pain.
The trade name Tectin™ is used for these potential analgesic
indications. In animal studies involving TTX, the potential of
the drug substance for use as a local or regional anesthetic
was also identified. The Company uses the trade name Tocudin™
for these anesthetic indications.
Since the company's public listing on the Canadian Ventures
Exchange in 1992 to the present, substantial capital has
been directed to the research and development of various drugs,
and subsequently, the protection of our intellectual knowledge
by filing multiple patents. The lead products, Tetrodin™ and
Tectin™ are being processed through the regulatory channels for
approvals in Canada, United States and Europe, and ultimately
pharmaceutical sales.

Initial research by the Company into tetrodotoxin (TTX) focused
on the indications of opiate addiction withdrawal, but, in the
early phase of pharmacological studies of TTX, it became apparent
that the prime factor in its ability to reduce or eliminate the
severe symptoms of withdrawal was its ability to reduce pain.
The Company therefore pursued further research on the ability of
TTX to alleviate pain and obtained positive results developing a
revolutionary non-narcotic pharmaceutical with potent properties
called Tectin™. Tectin™ is ideal for management of severe pain,
including palliative cancer pain.

Product Name: Tetrodin™
(Exporting)

A revolutionary non-narcotic pharmaceutical, with potent
analgesic properties, developed from the naturally organic
substance tetrodotoxin (TTX). Tetrodin™, with experiments to
date, has shown to provide a safe, cost effective primary
withdrawal treatment solution for heroin and other opiate
addiction to substances such as morphine, opium and methadone.

Product Name: Tocudin™
(Exporting)

Targeted at the local and topical anesthetic market, for patients
undergoing surgery or procedures for which general anesthesia
(loss of consciousness) may be impractical or unnecessary,
Tocudin™ is undergoing intensive preclinical testing at the
world-renowned Beijing Medical University in China, where the
Company's research & development and manufacturing operations are
currently located, resulting to date in positive and very
promising results.
